The Eastern Shore is a showcase for nature’s wonder and every moment tells a different story, from the wild ponies of Chincoteague and Assateague Islands to the breathtaking sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay along with the charming historic towns along the “Shore”.  Situated between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, residents and visitors enjoy a front row seat to the beauty of this peninsula. We share the area with a wide array of Shore Birds, Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Osprey, Hawks, Fox, and a vast aquatic environment.

About Me

My name is Kyle McGonigle and I am a nature photographer living at the south tip of the Eastern Shore in the historic town of Cape Charles, Virginia.  My journey into photography started as a hobby 30 years ago photographing family holidays and vacations.  Our kids became involved in musical theater and my passion grew as did the need for more technically advanced camera equipment.  My photography skills also needed to improve so I could capture all the action on stage.  The kids grew up and I turned my photography attention to the wonders of our planet.  

Photography is more than just taking pictures - it’s about telling a story. Growing up along the Atlantic Ocean I have also always had a love for nature and wildlife. What began as simple adventures on the beach or in my backyard soon turned into a deep obsession with capturing the amazing beauty of our world. 

Since my wife Karen and I moved to Cape Charles I cannot think of many days I am not out exploring and enjoying the wonders of our environment and freezing moments in time for all to enjoy.
